Japanese Language Courses
Our JAPN instructors team-teach, so each LE and TU offers the exact same quality instructions across each level.
Those who have studied Japanese in any way must take the online Japanese placement test (SPOT) to find an appropriate JAPN course.
Here's a list of the JAPN course schedules:
Exceptions: a) 2 sections with asynchronous Fridays available (therefore, no synchronous class on Fridays)
b) 2 sections with LE on Mondays/Wednesdays and TU on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays available (therefore, no class on Tuesdays/Thursdays)
Exception: 2 sections with LE on Mondays/Wednesdays and TU on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays (therefore, no class on Tuesdays/Thursdays)
Japanese Studies is an interdisciplinary program, and all the UD non-language courses (electives) are offered by our affiliated departments.
Some departmental offerings have content that varies from year to year. In those cases, Japanese Studies approval is given only when content relates primarily to Japan (33% or more).
If you have any questions about these courses, please contact the course offering departments directly.
